Tobias 11:1

After these things Tobias went his way praising God because he had given him a prosperous journey, and he blessed Raguel and Edna his wife, and went on his way until they drew near to Nineveh.

Tobias 11:2

Then Raphael said to Tobias, "You know, brother, how you left your father;

Tobias 11:3

let us hurry ahead, before your wife, and prepare the house;

Tobias 11:4

and you should carry in your hand the gall of the fish." So they went their way, and the dog went after them.

Tobias 11:5

Now Anna sat looking around, toward the way, for her son.

Tobias 11:6

And when she spotted him arriving, she said to his father, "See now, your son arrives, and the man who went with him."

Tobias 11:7

Then Raphael said, "I know, Tobias, that your father will open his eyes.



Tobias 11:8

Therefore anoint his eyes with the gall, and being irritated by it, he will rub his eyes and the whiteness will fall away, and then he will see you."

Tobias 11:9

Then Anna ran forth, and fell upon the neck of her son, and said to him, "Since I have seen you, my son, from now on I am content to die." And they both wept.

Tobias 11:10

Tobit also went forth toward the door, and stumbled, but his son ran to him.

Tobias 11:11

And he took hold of his father and struck his fathers' eyes with the gall, saying, "Be of good hope, my father."

Tobias 11:12

And when his eyes began to sting, he rubbed them;

Tobias 11:13

and the whiteness pealed away from the corners of his eyes; and when he saw his son, he fell upon his neck.

Tobias 11:14

And he wept and said, "Blessed are you, O God, and blessed is your name for ever; and blessed are all your holy angels.



Tobias 11:15

For you have scourged me, and have taken pity on me; for, behold, I see my son Tobias." And his son went in rejoicing, and he told his father the great things which had happened to him in Media.

Tobias 11:16

Then Tobit went out to meet his daughter-in-law at the gate of Nineveh, rejoicing and praising God; and those who saw him go marveled because he had received his sight.

Tobias 11:17

But Tobit gave thanks before them, because God had mercy on him. And when he came near to Sarah his daughter-in-law, he blessed her, saying, "You are welcome, daughter. May God be blessed, who brought you to us, and blessed be your father and your mother." And there was joy among all his brethren who were at Nineveh.

Tobias 11:18

And Achiacharus, and Nasbas his brother's son, came.

Tobias 11:19

And Tobias' wedding was kept for seven days with great joy.

God is Love

Let us love one another, for love comes from God and every one who loves is a child of God and knows God. He who loves not man does not know God, for God is love. God showed his love for us, for he sent his only Son into the world that through him we might have life. Love the stranger.


In Mark 12:30 Jesus said; And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this [is] the first commandment.

And the second Mark 12:31 [is] like, [namely] this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

Lost Books

The Gospel of The Birth of Mary was attributed to St. Matthew and was received as genuine and authentic by early Christians. It is to be found in the works of Jerome, a Father of the Church in the 4th century and is translated from his collection.


The Book of Enoch is ascribed to the great-grandfather of Noah and is included in the cannon of some churches. It describes the fall of the angels (watchers), visions of heaven and hell and the birth of Noah. Quotes from the book of Enoch are found in the New Testament.


The First Book of Adam and Eve. Books 1 begins immediately after the expulsion from the Garden of Eden. We learn about the fall but also of the promise to save Adam and his decendents. The story depicts mans struggle against evil, the devil and sin.


The Second Book of Adam and Eve. Discusses Adam's sorrow and death. The history of the patriarchs who lived before the Flood until the birth of Noah; the children of Seth on Mount Hermon and Cain's death. It ends with the testament and translation of Enoch.


The Infancy of Jesus Christ (Infancy Gospel of Thomas) relates the life of Jesus from the ages of five to twelve. It is believed that the document was transcribed from oral traditions some time prior to the second century. The ancient writing is possibly Gnostic and many early church leaders considered it heretical.
