Tobias 13:1

Then Tobit wrote a prayer of rejoicing and said, "Blessed be God who lives for ever and blessed be his kingdom.

Tobias 13:2

For he scourges and has mercy; he leads down to hell and brings up again; neither is there any who can avoid his hand.

Tobias 13:3

Confess him before the Gentiles, you children of Israel, for he has scattered us among them.

Tobias 13:4

There declare his greatness and extol him before all the living, for he is our Lord and he is the God our Father for ever.

Tobias 13:5

And he will scourge us for our iniquities, and will have mercy again, and will gather us out of all the nations among whom he has scattered us.

Tobias 13:6

If you turn to him with your whole heart and with your whole mind and deal uprightly before him, then he will turn to you and will not hide his face from you. Therefore see what he will do with you, and confess him with your whole mouth, and praise the Lord of might, and extol the everlasting King. In the land of my captivity, I praise him and declare his might and majesty to a sinful nation. O you sinners, turn and do justice before him; who can tell if he will accept you and have mercy on you?

Tobias 13:7

"I will extol my God and my soul shall praise the King of heaven and shall rejoice in his greatness.



Tobias 13:8

Let all men speak and let all praise him for his righteousness.

Tobias 13:9

O Jerusalem, the holy city, he will scourge you for your children's works and will have mercy again on the sons of the righteous.

Tobias 13:10

Give praise to the Lord, for he is good, and praise the everlasting King, so that his tabernacle may be built in you again with joy; and there let him make joyful in you those who are captives, and love in you for ever those who are miserable.

Tobias 13:11

Many nations shall come from far to the name of the Lord God with gifts in their hands, with gifts to the King of heaven; all generations shall praise you with great joy.

Tobias 13:12

Cursed are all those who hate you and blessed shall be all those who love you for ever.

Tobias 13:13

Rejoice and be glad for the children of the just, for they shall be gathered together and shall bless the Lord of the just.

Tobias 13:14

O blessed are those who love you, for they shall rejoice in your peace. Blessed are those who have been sorrowful for all your scourges, for they shall rejoice for you, when they have seen all your glory, and shall be glad for ever.



Tobias 13:15

Let my soul bless God the great King.

Tobias 13:16

For Jerusalem shall be built up with sapphires and emeralds and precious stone, your walls and towers and battlements with pure gold.

Tobias 13:17

And the streets of Jerusalem shall be paved with beryl and carbuncle and stones of Ophir.

Tobias 13:18

And all her streets shall say, 'Alleluia,' and they shall praise him, saying, 'Blessed be God, who has extolled it for ever.'"

The Apocrypha books are 14 books that were included between the old and new testaments in the original King James Version of the bible and many others. Church leaders agreed that these books were valuable for instruction in life and manners, but did not all agree that they should be considered cannon.

God is Love

Let us love one another, for love comes from God and every one who loves is a child of God and knows God. He who loves not man does not know God, for God is love. God showed his love for us, for he sent his only Son into the world that through him we might have life. Love the stranger.


In Mark 12:30 Jesus said; And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this [is] the first commandment.

And the second Mark 12:31 [is] like, [namely] this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

Lost Books

The Gospel of The Birth of Mary was attributed to St. Matthew and was received as genuine and authentic by early Christians. It is to be found in the works of Jerome, a Father of the Church in the 4th century and is translated from his collection.


The Book of Enoch is ascribed to the great-grandfather of Noah and is included in the cannon of some churches. It describes the fall of the angels (watchers), visions of heaven and hell and the birth of Noah. Quotes from the book of Enoch are found in the New Testament.


The First Book of Adam and Eve. Books 1 begins immediately after the expulsion from the Garden of Eden. We learn about the fall but also of the promise to save Adam and his decendents. The story depicts mans struggle against evil, the devil and sin.


The Second Book of Adam and Eve. Discusses Adam's sorrow and death. The history of the patriarchs who lived before the Flood until the birth of Noah; the children of Seth on Mount Hermon and Cain's death. It ends with the testament and translation of Enoch.


The Infancy of Jesus Christ (Infancy Gospel of Thomas) relates the life of Jesus from the ages of five to twelve. It is believed that the document was transcribed from oral traditions some time prior to the second century. The ancient writing is possibly Gnostic and many early church leaders considered it heretical.
