Hebrews 4:2

For indeed we have had good news preached to us, even as they also did, but the word they heard didn't profit them, because it wasn't mixed with faith by those who heard.

Hebrews 4:13

There is no creature that is hidden from his sight, but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

Hebrews 4:15

For we don't have a high priest who can't be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin.

Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need.

Hebrews 8:9

not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers, in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; for they didn't continue in my covenant, and I disregarded them," says the Lord.



Hebrews 8:10

"For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel. After those days," says the Lord; "I will put my laws into their mind, I will also write them on their heart. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

Hebrews 9:4

having a golden altar of incense, and the ark of the covenant overlaid on all sides with gold, in which was a golden pot holding the manna, Aaron's rod that budded, and the tablets of the covenant;

Hebrews 9:7

but into the second the high priest alone, once in the year, not without blood, which he offers for himself, and for the errors of the people.

Hebrews 9:10

being only (with meats and drinks and various washings) fleshly ordinances, imposed until a time of reformation.

Hebrews 9:11

But Christ having come as a high priest of the coming good things, through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation,

Hebrews 9:14

how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Hebrews 9:18

Therefore even the first covenant has not been dedicated without blood.



Hebrews 9:19

For when every commandment had been spoken by Moses to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of the calves and the goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people,

Hebrews 9:21

Moreover he sprinkled the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry in the same way with the blood.

Hebrews 9:22

According to the law, nearly everything is cleansed with blood, and apart from shedding of blood there is no remission.

Hebrews 9:23

It was necessary therefore that the copies of the things in the heavens should be cleansed with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

Hebrews 9:24

For Christ hasn't entered into holy places made with hands, which are representations of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us;

Hebrews 9:25

nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest enters into the holy place year by year with blood not his own,

Hebrews 9:28

so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, without sin, to those who are eagerly waiting for him for salvation.



Hebrews 10:1

For the law, having a shadow of the good to come, not the very image of the things, can never with the same sacrifices year by year, which they offer continually, make perfect those who draw near.

Hebrews 10:16

"This is the covenant that I will make with them: 'After those days,' says the Lord, 'I will put my laws on their heart, I will also write them on their mind;'" then he says,

Hebrews 10:22

let's draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and having our body washed with pure water,

Hebrews 10:23

let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for he who promised is faithful.

Hebrews 10:28

A man who disregards Moses' law dies without compassion on the word of two or three witnesses.

Hebrews 10:29

How much worse punishment, do you think, will he be judged worthy of, who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?

Hebrews 10:32

But remember the former days, in which, after you were enlightened, you endured a great struggle with sufferings;



Hebrews 10:33

partly, being exposed to both reproaches and oppressions; and partly, becoming partakers with those who were treated so.

Hebrews 11:4

By faith, Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he had testimony given to him that he was righteous, God testifying with respect to his gifts; and through it he, being dead, still speaks.

Hebrews 11:6

Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him.

Hebrews 11:7

By faith, Noah, being warned about things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared a ship for the saving of his house, through which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.

Hebrews 11:9

By faith, he lived as an alien in the land of promise, as in a land not his own, dwelling in tents, with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise.

Hebrews 11:25

choosing rather to share ill treatment with God's people, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a time;

By faith, Rahab the prostitute, didn't perish with those who were disobedient, having received the spies in peace.

It is for discipline that you endure. God deals with you as with children, for what son is there whom his father doesn't discipline?

But if you are without discipline, of which all have been made partakers, then are you illegitimate, and not children.

Hebrews 12:14

Follow after peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no man will see the Lord,

For you know that even when he afterward desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for a change of mind though he sought it diligently with tears.

Hebrews 12:18

For you have not come to a mountain that might be touched, and that burned with fire, and to blackness, darkness, storm,

Hebrews 12:28

Therefore, receiving a Kingdom that can't be shaken, let us have grace, through which we serve God acceptably, with reverence and awe,

Hebrews 13:2

Don't forget to show hospitality to strangers, for in doing so, some have entertained angels without knowing it.

Hebrews 13:3

Remember those who are in bonds, as bound with them; and those who are ill-treated, since you are also in the body.

Hebrews 13:5

Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, "I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you."

Hebrews 13:6

So that with good courage we say, "The Lord is my helper. I will not fear. What can man do to me?"

Hebrews 13:16

But don't forget to be doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

Hebrews 13:17

Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they watch on behalf of your souls, as those who will give account, that they may do this with joy, and not with groaning, for that would be unprofitable for you.

Hebrews 13:20

Now may the God of peace, who brought again from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep with the blood of an eternal covenant, our Lord Jesus,

Hebrews 13:23

Know that our brother Timothy has been freed, with whom, if he comes shortly, I will see you.

Hosea 2:2

Contend with your mother! Contend, for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband; and let her put away her prostitution from her face, and her adulteries from between her breasts;

Lest I strip her naked, and make her bare as in the day that she was born, and make her like a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and kill her with thirst.

Hosea 2:6

Therefore, behold, I will hedge up your way with thorns, and I will build a wall against her, that she can't find her way.

Hosea 2:7

She will follow after her lovers, but she won't overtake them; and she will seek them, but won't find them. Then she will say, 'I will go and return to my first husband; for then was it better with me than now.'

Hosea 2:13

I will visit on her the days of the Baals, to which she burned incense, when she decked herself with her earrings and her jewels, and went after her lovers, and forgot me," says the LORD.

Hosea 2:18

In that day I will make a covenant for them with the animals of the field, and with the birds of the sky, and with the creeping things of the ground. I will break the bow, the sword, and the battle out of the land, and will make them lie down safely.

Hosea 3:3

I said to her, "You shall stay with me many days. You shall not play the prostitute, and you shall not be with any other man. I will also be so toward you."

Hosea 3:4

For the children of Israel shall live many days without king, and without prince, and without sacrifice, and without sacred stone, and without ephod or idols.

Hosea 3:5

Afterward the children of Israel shall return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king, and shall come with trembling to the LORD and to his blessings in the last days.

Hosea 4:5

You will stumble in the day, and the prophet will also stumble with you in the night; and I will destroy your mother.

Hosea 4:12

My people consult with their wooden idol, and answer to a stick of wood. Indeed the spirit of prostitution has led them astray, and they have been unfaithful to their God.

Hosea 4:14

I will not punish your daughters when they play the prostitute, nor your brides when they commit adultery; because the men consort with prostitutes, and they sacrifice with the shrine prostitutes; so the people without understanding will come to ruin.

Hosea 5:4

Their deeds won't allow them to turn to their God; for the spirit of prostitution is within them, and they don't know the LORD.

Hosea 5:5

The pride of Israel testifies to his face. Therefore Israel and Ephraim will stumble in their iniquity. Judah also will stumble with them.

Hosea 5:6

They will go with their flocks and with their herds to seek the LORD; but they won't find him. He has withdrawn himself from them.

Hosea 5:7

They are unfaithful to the LORD; for they have borne illegitimate children. Now the new moon will devour them with their fields.

Hosea 6:5

Therefore I have cut them to pieces with the prophets; I killed them with the words of my mouth. Your judgments are like a flash of lightning.

Hosea 6:8

Gilead is a city of those who work iniquity; it is stained with blood.

Hosea 7:3

They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies.

Hosea 7:5

On the day of our king, the princes made themselves sick with the heat of wine. He joined his hand with mockers.

Hosea 7:11

"Ephraim is like an easily deceived dove, without understanding. They call to Egypt. They go to Assyria.

Hosea 7:14

They haven't cried to me with their heart, but they howl on their beds. They assemble themselves for grain and new wine. They turn away from me.

Hosea 9:8

A prophet watches over Ephraim with my God. A fowler's snare is on all of his paths, and hostility in the house of his God.

Hosea 9:11

As for Ephraim, their glory will fly away like a bird. There will be no birth, none with child, and no conception.

the LORD also has a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his deeds he will repay him.

In the womb he took his brother by the heel; and in his manhood he contended with God.

Hosea 12:4

Indeed, he struggled with the angel, and prevailed; he wept, and made supplication to him. He found him at Bethel, and there he spoke with us,

Hosea 13:3

Therefore they will be like the morning mist, and like the dew that passes away early, like the chaff that is driven with the whirlwind out of the threshing floor, and like the smoke out of the chimney.

Hosea 14:2

Take words with you, and return to the LORD. Tell him, "Forgive all our sins, and accept that which is good: so we offer our lips like bulls.

Hosea 14:8

Ephraim, what have I to do any more with idols? I answer, and will take care of him. I am like a green fir tree; from me your fruit is found."

Isaiah 1:4

Ah sinful nation, a people loaded with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children who deal corruptly! They have forsaken the LORD. They have despised the Holy One of Israel. They are estranged and backward.

In that day the Lord will shave with a razor that is hired in the parts beyond the River, even with the king of Assyria, the head and the hair of the feet; and it shall also consume the beard.

People will go there with arrows and with bow, because all the land will be briers and thorns.

When they tell you, "Consult with those who have familiar spirits and with the wizards, who chirp and who mutter:" shouldn't a people consult with their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living?

Isaiah 9:7

Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, on the throne of David, and on his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from that time on, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of Armies will perform this.

Isaiah 9:10

"The bricks have fallen, but we will build with cut stone. The sycamore fig trees have been cut down, but we will put cedars in their place."

Isaiah 9:12

The Syrians in front, and the Philistines behind; and they will devour Israel with open mouth. For all this, his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

Your pomp is brought down to Sheol, with the sound of your stringed instruments. Maggots are spread out under you, and worms cover you.

But you are cast away from your tomb like an abominable branch, clothed with the slain, who are thrust through with the sword, who go down to the stones of the pit; like a dead body trodden under foot.

Isaiah 14:21

Prepare for slaughter of his children because of the iniquity of their fathers, that they not rise up and possess the earth, and fill the surface of the world with cities.

Isaiah 14:23

"I will also make it a possession for the porcupine, and pools of water. I will sweep it with the broom of destruction," says the LORD of Armies.

The firstborn of the poor will eat, and the needy will lie down in safety; and I will kill your root with famine, and your remnant will be killed.

Heshbon cries out with Elealeh. Their voice is heard even to Jahaz. Therefore the armed men of Moab cry aloud. Their souls tremble within them.

Isaiah 15:5

My heart cries out for Moab! Her nobles flee to Zoar, to Eglath Shelishiyah; for they go up by the ascent of Luhith with weeping; for in the way of Horonaim, they raise up a cry of destruction.

Isaiah 15:6

For the waters of Nimrim will be desolate; for the grass has withered away, the tender grass fails, there is no green thing.

Isaiah 16:4

Let my outcasts dwell with you! As for Moab, be a hiding place for him from the face of the destroyer. For the extortioner is brought to nothing. Destruction ceases. The oppressors are consumed out of the land.

Isaiah 16:8

For the fields of Heshbon languish with the vine of Sibmah. The lords of the nations have broken down its choice branches, which reached even to Jazer, which wandered into the wilderness. Its shoots were spread abroad. They passed over the sea.

Isaiah 16:9

Therefore I will weep with the weeping of Jazer for the vine of Sibmah. I will water you with my tears, Heshbon, and Elealeh: for on your summer fruits and on your harvest the battle shout has fallen.

Isaiah 16:14

But now the LORD has spoken, saying, "Within three years, as a worker bound by contract would count them, the glory of Moab shall be brought into contempt, with all his great multitude; and the remnant will be very small and feeble."

Isaiah 18:5

For before the harvest, when the blossom is over, and the flower becomes a ripening grape, he will cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks, and he will cut down and take away the spreading branches.

Isaiah 19:6

The rivers will become foul. The streams of Egypt will be diminished and dried up. The reeds and flags will wither away.

It will be for a sign and for a witness to the LORD of Armies in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to the LORD because of oppressors, and he will send them a savior and a defender, and he will deliver them.

the LORD will be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know the LORD in that day. Yes, they will worship with sacrifice and offering, and will vow a vow to the LORD, and will perform it.

Isaiah 19:23

In that day there will be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria; and the Egyptians will worship with the Assyrians.

Isaiah 19:24

In that day, Israel will be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the earth;

Isaiah 20:4

so the king of Assyria will lead away the captives of Egypt and the exiles of Ethiopia, young and old, naked and barefoot, and with buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.

Isaiah 21:3

Therefore my thighs are filled with anguish. Pains have taken hold on me, like the pains of a woman in labor. I am in so much pain that I can't hear. I so am dismayed that I can't see.

But he will speak to this nation with stammering lips and in another language;

"Because you have said, 'We have made a covenant with death, and with Sheol are we in agreement. When the overflowing scourge passes through, it won't come to us; for we have made lies our refuge, and we have hidden ourselves under falsehood.'"

Isaiah 28:18

Your covenant with death shall be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol shall not stand. When the overflowing scourge passes through, then you will be trampled down by it.

Isaiah 28:27

For the dill are not threshed with a sharp instrument, neither is a cart wheel turned over the cumin; but the dill is beaten out with a stick, and the cumin with a rod.

The Gospel of The Birth of Mary was attributed to St. Matthew and was received as genuine and authentic by early Christians. It is to be found in the works of Jerome, a Father of the Church in the 4th century and is translated from his collection.


The Book of Enoch is ascribed to the great-grandfather of Noah and is included in the cannon of some churches. It describes the fall of the angels (watchers), visions of heaven and hell and the birth of Noah. Quotes from the book of Enoch are found in the New Testament.


The First Book of Adam and Eve. Books 1 begins immediately after the expulsion from the Garden of Eden. We learn about the fall but also of the promise to save Adam and his decendents. The story depicts mans struggle against evil, the devil and sin.


The Second Book of Adam and Eve. Discusses Adam's sorrow and death. The history of the patriarchs who lived before the Flood until the birth of Noah; the children of Seth on Mount Hermon and Cain's death. It ends with the testament and translation of Enoch.


The Infancy of Jesus Christ (Infancy Gospel of Thomas) relates the life of Jesus from the ages of five to twelve. It is believed that the document was transcribed from oral traditions some time prior to the second century. The ancient writing is possibly Gnostic and many early church leaders considered it heretical.
